Analysis of Fluid Flow and Temperature Profiles in Flat Plate Solar Collector Using CFD
Abstract
CFD simulations are performed to study flow and temperature patterns in flat plate solar water heater. Different configurations with varying number and diameter of tubes are considered at various Reynolds numbers. The study shows significant influence of these parameters on the performance of the flat plate heater. Some suitable configurations for better distribution of flow and high heat transfer coefficients are identified.
