Paper Title
Acromegalic Cardiomyopathy

Abstract
Evaluation for the underlying etiology of cardiomyopathy is an imperative step in the management of patients with acute heart failure after stabilization of the initial crisis. Identification and correction of underlying causes can sometimes drastically reverse the progressive course of the disease and prevent development of intractable end-stage heart failure. Acromegaly is an endocrine disease characterized by over-production of growth hormone (GH) and insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-1. Since GH and IGF-1 have a crucial role in the development and function of the heart, an excess of these hormones can cause structural and functional changes of the heart. Here, we present a case of a reversible form of heart failure in an acromegalic patient who initially presented with severe acute heart failure. Index terms- Acromegaly, cardiomyopathy
