Paper Title
Value Upgrading of Rice Husk Waste with Bamboo Fiber as Components of Particle Board
Abstract
Due to the lack of nutrient content in rice husk, it cannot be optimally utilized. It is usually burnt and tend to be viewed as agricultural waste. This research aims to increase the value of rice husk waste by utilizing it as components of particle board which can be mass produced. Experiments were performed to produce particle board made from rice husks combined with bamboo fiber and citric acid as adhesive in various compositions. The particle boards are tested in some parameters based on the National Standardization Agency of Indonesia standard requirements. The one-way ANOVA method is used to determine whether there are any statistically significant differences among the compositions of rice husks with bamboo fiber and citric acid against test result. This research also explains the significant value increased of rice husk which originally was agricultural waste that is almost worthless to be a material that can provide economic benefits.
