Paper Title
Preliminary Study On SR(II) Adsorptionusing Diatomite

Abstract
This study investigatedSr(II) removal by using diatomite. First, the diatomite was treated by acid (H2SO4) to increase its specific surface area, pore volume, and then the Sr(II) adsorption capacity of diatomite was enhanced. The acid-treateddiatomite was subjected to the batch experiment (adjustSr(II) concentration, adsorption time and temperature, and pH value). It suggested that the Langmuir isotherm was more adequate than Freundlich isotherm in simulating the adsorption isotherm of Sr(II), and the maximum Sr(II) adsorption capacity was5.1 mg/g for acid-activated diatomite. Moreover, the negative apparent free energy confirmed that the S(II) adsorption onto the acid-treated diatomite was a spontaneous process. Therefore, these findings indicate that acid-activateddiatomitehaspotential in the Sr(II) removal.
