This province is consisted of 47 minority groups and students are multilingual speakers. Translanguaging is pedagogical tool which is usually used as a language resource by multilingual speakers for meaning making. This is not only about the switching of one language to the other but also about the use of different language repertoires available for speakers to convey meaning. There is one question and one objective in this study. The aim was to identify Chinese students’ perceptions on the use of translanguaging in Changji University Xinjiang Weiwuer Autonomous Region English language classroom. This research used mix method for data analysis. The instruments used were questionnaire for quantitative analysis and semi-structured interview for qualitative analysis. There were 175 third-year students participated in the study in which the questionnaire was distributed for the survey and interviews were conducted to 10 students. The findings indicated that students have neutral to positive perceptions. The reason why ‘Neutral’ is slightly higher than ‘Agree’ is because according to the students participated in the study, if teachers use the language that students understand, it is acceptable. So, the precondition is that a teacher's use of translanguaging depends on the situation, such as, in what way and in what situation.
