Examination of Microstructure of Fly Ash in Cement Mortar
Abstract
In this study, microstructure of the fly ash substituted cement pastes was researched. In order to observe the effect of fly ash in cement paste, various amounts of fly ash were added to CEM I 42.5 R cement. The prepared samples were kept in drinking water for 2, 7, 28, 90 days and their microstructure were examined. As a result, it was observed that CH's were formed in examined samples at the end of 7 days, C-S-H's were formed in the examined samples at the end of 28 days and that ettringites were formed from place to place in samples which were kept for 90 days.
