Paper Title
Plasmon Enhancement of Photocatalysis on Nano-Mgo

Abstract
We developed a facile strategy to prepare porous MgO nanophotocatalysts for water splitting by introducing mid-gap electronic states based on surface defect engineering. To enhance the water-splitting for hydrogen production efficiency, gold nanoparticles were loaded onto the porous MgO nanocrystals. The localized surface plasmon resonance from gold with 23 wt.% loading enhanced the hydrogen production efficiency for MgO photocatalysts by two times, and more importantly, the enhanced photocatalytic hydrogen production from MgO-Au nanocomposites exhibits a high durability. Keywords- Porous MgO, nanophotocatalysts, water splitting, Au plasmon enhancement.
