Understanding of Potential Motivational Factors of Women Entrepreneurship in India
Abstract
One of the major concerns for India at present and in near future is to optimally utilize working age group. Entrepreneurship is emerging as an important avenue in gaining economic independence for men and women. India is male dominated society. Generally, it is assumed that entrepreneurship is a place for man. Women are still struggling. Women’s social needs differ from that of men in many ways due to their biological and psychological differences. Women entrepreneurship usually focus on the survival and growth of the enterprises managed and controlled by women with less attention on those factors that are most likely to the result in the business failure when they are starting their business. The priority choices and the sacrifices made by women entrepreneurs can take the form of individual opportunity cost decision in which they reject alternative compelling activities which were important in their business. Therefore, prospects open for them to develop into business professionals is an area still quite unexploded and needs attention. This paper will be focusing on motivational factors of women to become women entrepreneurs. This paper will also emphasize on the concept of women entrepreneurs and focus on the functional factors of women entrepreneurship, SWOT analysis to examine growth and performance of women entrepreneurs in India. Some suggestion to survive in this globalized world.
