Paper Title
A Simple Approach for Synthesis and Functionalization of Graphene Oxide Nano-Platelets
Abstract
Graphene due to superior properties has been considered as a significant element for designing of various functional materials. In this research, GO synthesized by changing in process of modified Hummer's method to produce pure and a few layers of it. According to results, a comparison between XRD patterns of GO and graphite starting material proving that complete oxidation has arisen. In FTIR spectrum C=O, C=C, C-O, C-O, C-H and O-H groups have observed. According to the CHNS-O element analysis and %Mn found by ICP-OES, the weight ratios of C/O, C/N, C/H respectively were 1.27%, 0 and 15.11% and the residual amount of Mn in GO was less than of 0.01 wt.%. UV/vis spectrum and SEM/FESEM images along with Image/J software assessment showed a few layer GO with 0.5-5 nm thickness synthesized. Electrical resistivity data revealed that the GO is perfectly insulated with strong p-type conductivity at room temperature.
