Role of Social Studies Education in Promoting Sustainable Environment and Reducing Unemployment in Nigeria
Abstract
The paper examines the role of Social Studies Education in promoting sustainable environment as a tool to reducing unemployment in Nigeria. The paper argues that the concept of Social Studies in the context of Nigeria education is comprehensive and viable enough to promote sustainable environment in which its resources can be judiciously utilized to create employment and wealth in Nigeria. Given the massive potentials environmental resources offer, the paper therefore recommends the need for strategic action plan by the government to ensure active sustainable environmental practices so that it can yield its wealth for the benefit of the nation.
