Paper Title
When is Employee Orientation Better Than Customer Orientation
Abstract
This study examined several antecedents of employee satisfaction and turnover intention, including age, gender, working period, customer orientation, and employee orientation. A mixed model that included firm size as a potential moderator was constructed using a hierarchical linear modeling approach. It was found that customer and employee orientation and their interaction affected employee satisfaction, with customer orientation and the interaction also having a significant effect on turnover intention. In addition, there were differences in the effects according to firm size. The results suggest that the influence of customer and employee orientation is dependent on firm size and business type. The implications and limitations of the study are discussed in the conclusion.
