Paper Title
A Scheme to Cancel Co-Channel Interference in Multi-Hop Wireless Relay Networks for Iot Devices

Abstract
IEEE 802.16j standardizes the operation of multi-hop relay stations (RS) which enhances cell coverage and system performance. However, simultaneous transmission of relay stations may cause severe interference among themselves if they use the same frequency channel with omni-directional antennae. Allowing every 2nd RS in a linear array of RSs to simultaneously transmit as in IEEE 802.16j does not completely remove this interference. The state-of-the-art scheme overcomes this interference by allowing every 3rd RS to transmit without throughput degradation thanks to employed network coding. We propose a new scheme which excels the state-of-the-art in terms of throughput by as much as 22%. Our scheme allows every 2nd RS simultaneously to transmit and cancels the resulting co-channel interference. For this we combine interference cancellation and network coding. As a result, our scheme outperforms conventional schemes including the state-of-the-art in terms of both system throughput and round trip delay.
