Mathematical Solutions For Food-Water System: Case Study of Optimal Irrigation Scheduling for Maize in Serbia
Abstract
Food and water systems interact intensivelywhile addressing shortage both in food production and available water supply. These interactions are investigated and an optimal control problem is formulated for the optimal irrigation scheduling with water quota constraint. A case study for maize in Serbia is presented using a set of available data and parameters from calibration of the FAO model AquaCrop for two sites and two drought years in Serbia.
