The Discrepancy of Two International Growth References in Defining Nutritional Status of Children From Suburban Population

Abstract
Other than assess nutrition status of suburban children, this study was undertaken to compare the prevalence of malnutrition (underweight, overweight and stunting) using 2 growth references, known as WHO and CDC cut off. There were 847 children gathered as respondent in this cross sectional study who priorly selected from list of public and private elementary school in Depok, Indonesia. Using aforementioned cut offs, height for age calculation was performed in defining stunting as well as weight for age in defining underweight and overweight. Double burden malnutrition was founded. Furthermore, CDC cut off was higher in defining these tree forms of malnutrition in both boys and girls. Index Terms- Children, CDC, Nutritional Status, Suburban, WHO.
