Empirical Study Of Strategic Alliance Decisions Of Korean Small-And Medium-Sized Enterprises

Abstract
This study investigates factors relating strategic alliances formations ofsmall- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by using 248 SMEs� survey data from Human Capital Corporate Panel Survey of Korea in 2013.Empirical findings include those with high net profit margin are more likely to form strategic alliances. R&D and technology alliances are not significant for this study.Reasons for pursuing strategic alliances by those SMEs are product diversification and development of new markets. And those which are foreign owned are more likely to pursue strategic alliances. Keywords� Strategic alliances, Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises, Logistic Regression.
