The Effect of Greenpreneurship Spirit in Improving the Independent Waste Management Performance in Indonesia

Abstract
Waste will always become a serious problem, especially in the area with high population density. This is due to waste is one of contributors in environment degradation if it is not well managed. A good waste management will not only benefit in improving environment quality, but will also provide business opportunity to create added value and saleable products. One of the concepts that is well developed today is greenpreneurship, which is defined as �entrepreneurship through environmental point of view. this study is conducted to understand about the direct and indirect effect of greenpreneurship on business performance of waste management. This study focused on the effect of greenpreneurship spirit on business performance mediated by the development and innovation on environmentally friendly product. The result of testing on the effect of greenpreneurship spirit on business performance mediated by the development of environmentally friendly product shows that the development of environmentally friendly product mediates the relationship between greenpreneurship and business performance. This condition indicated that business performance in the independent waste management is not only affected by greenpreneurship spirit but also by product innovation. Thus skills become an important factor in the independent waste management, because through skill, then new innovations will emerged and adding the value of waste.
