A Matter Of Difference: Ontario Aboriginal Education Policy

Abstract
This two-year qualitative study involved eight Aboriginal students in a northern Ontario (Canada) publicly-funded elementary school. The study is a component of federally-funded large-scale project that honours the voices and experiences of Aboriginal students in public schools in light of a key policy related to Aboriginal education. Two core themes emerged as an outcome of the Research Conversations and were described as �Being Different� and �Perceiving Difference.� Key Words: Aboriginal education; education policy
