Paper Title
Zeolite Modifications And Their Applications To Remove Hexavalent Chromium

Abstract
Zeolite was modified with Fe, Mn and Al for the removal of hexavalent chromium in solution. BET, PZC, CEC were conducted to identify the modified zeolite. The results of PZC and CEC did not clearly distinguished the properties of the modified zeolite, but the results of BET indicated that the reaction with Mn increased the surface area dramatically. However, chromium adsorptions by the modified zeolite indicated that (Fe+Al)-zeolite were the optimum. Kinetic study on chromium adsorption by (Fe+Al)-zeolite revealed that pseudo-second order model was fit better than pseudo-first order model. The increasing chromium concentrations decreased the rate constant but increased adsorption capacity. Moreover, adsorption isotherm test indicated that Langmuir model interpreted the experimental data better thanFreundlich model.
