A One Health Approach To Educating And Training Public Health Professionals

Abstract
One Health refers to the dynamic interdependence of human, animal and environmental health and provides a unique lens to examine health problems. While One Health has technically been practiced by public health and medical professionals for many years, it is now becoming more recognized and institutionalized. The Master of Public Health (MPH) program at Virginia Tech is grounded in One Health in the scope and sequence of the program. One Health is integrated into all courses including practicum and capstone courses. The program has been successful at educating MPH students to integrate One Health into public health.
