Garcinia Pedunculata Roxb Mediated Palladium Nanoparticle Shows Anti-Efflux Activities Against A Novel Multidrug Resistant Clinical Isolate

Abstract
Palladium nanoparticles have been synthesized by a novel one step green method using Pd(OAc)2 and Garcinia pedunculata Roxb leaf extract. No additional reducing and capping agents were used during the study. The PdNPs were characterized by UV-Vis spectrophotometer, HRTEM, and XRD. The TEM microgram confirms the formation of metallic PdNPs in the range of 3-5 nm. The PdNPs were found to show excellent anti-efflux and anti biofilm activities against a novel multidrug resistant clinical isolate Cronobacter sakazakii strain AMD04. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum bactericidal concentration (MBC) was found to be 60 and 120 g/mL respectively, which is much lower that USP administered limit for Pd based oral drugs. This finding makes it a potential drug candidate. A possible efflux mechanism has also been discussed. Key words- PdNPs; anti-efflux activity; anti-biofilm activity; multidrug resistant bacteria.
