Infant Cry Analysis By Using Wavelet Transform

Abstract
The identification of quantitative and qualitative characteristics in infant cry is important for physicians, since this allows to distinguish between pathological and normal cries. Recognition of characteristics in biological signals, specifically infant cry, is presented in this work. The mathematical paradigmhere applied to infant cry in order to extract characteristics associated to some pathological symptoms that affect infants is the Wavelet Transform.
