Paper Title
User Satisfaction Measures For Evaluating Information Retrieval System

Abstract
This study discusses the user satisfaction measures for evaluating an IR system. It investigates on the measures that determine the satisfaction levels of the users of IR systems. The study establishes a number of these measures, which are later analyzed. It runs from the introduction part, which ushers in the concept of user satisfaction in the process of using information retrieval systems. This part is followed by, the paper outlining the theoretical background of user satisfaction measures for evaluating information retrieval system. This part brings to light, the theoretical arguments by various authors on the matter. The next part is the main discussion of the paper, which are the user satisfaction measures for evaluating IR system. This part analyzes the various user satisfaction measures, used to evaluate the IR system. The measures discussed include satisficing, task measure, user participation, system effectiveness, user effectiveness, and user effort measure. The study concludes that the user satisfaction levels of users of IR systems are a multidimensional aspect. Index Terms Information Retrieval System, Evaluation, Measures, Satisfactions.
