Study On The Effects Of Hospital Waste On Surface Water Pollution

Abstract
In this paper we study the impacts of hospital waste on chemical properties of surface waters. In doing so, we employ laboratory and software methods. In laboratory method, we sample the waste entering and exiting hospital waste treatment system and analyze its physical and chemical parameters. Then, we investigate hospital situation in terms of geographical and environmental parameters in order to make a precise analysis. Our results indicate that hospital waste has a considerable impact on acidity, conductivity, dissolved solids, and needed biological and chemical oxygen. Furthermore, necessary measures have to be taken to locate hospitals away from surface water resources. Keywords� Hospital waste, Tehran, Waste, Analysis, Water Pollution
