Paper Title
Transferable Skills in Risk Management field as a Key to Resilience
Abstract
Risk management has long been considered as a technical discipline focused on quantitative models. However, the increasing complexity of global challenges requires the integration of soft skills such as communication, adaptability, leadership and problem-solving into the decision-making process. This paper examines the integration of soft skills in the field of risk management, emphasizing the role of higher education institutions in shaping the new generations that are not only technically proficient but also resilient and employable. Using the Master of Science in Risk Management at the University of Tirana as a case study, this research paper highlights how curriculum design, project-based learning, and academic collaboration with business foster transferable skills development alongside technical expertise. Incorporating soft skills into curricula increases employability and prepares graduates to face complex risks in contexts impacted by climate change, digital transformation, and ESG compliance.
