A2B Collaboration: Theory and Practice from WB Region
Abstract
The triple helix model, emphasizing collaboration between academia, business, and government, has been recognized as a vital framework for fostering sustainable cooperation. Such interaction is essential for advancing sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly through innovation and stakeholder engagement. While the business sector plays a central role in driving technological development and innovation toward the SDGs, it cannot act in isolation. Academia role and intervention isvery important in facilitating supportive mechanisms such as education, and training. However, the links between academia and business sector are not always straightforward, and especially in developing countriesit becomes difficult to find communication and cooperation channels. This paper investigates key approaches for cultivating the triple helix model within economies, with a specific focus on A2B cooperation in the Western Balkansand concludes with selected regional case studies and policy recommendations.
