POSITIVE BEHAVIOR: QUALITATIVE INSIGHTS ON ORGANIZATIONAL CITIZENSHIP BEHAVIOR AMONG ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Abstract
Organizational citizenship behavior is an important behavior for all teachers in schools. This study aims to determine the description of organizational citizenship behavior in elementary school teachers in one of the private schools in Indonesia. A qualitative approach was used for this study. The respondents of this study were nine teachers. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews and observations, then analyzed using three stages of data analysis, namely; data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that dimensions of altruism, sportsmanship, conscientiousness and civic virtue emerged dominantly. Meanwhile, one other dimension, namely courtesy, was not yet prominent. This shows that it is still necessary to develop interpersonal skills between colleagues. These findings emphasize the important role of organizational citizenship behavior in building a collaborative and positive school environment. These results also indicate the need for team building training programs, as well as the importance of appreciation from the school for teachers' voluntary contributions. Thus, this study contributes to the understanding of teacher work behavior that goes beyond formal job descriptions, and provides relevant insights to support teacher psychological well-being.
