Optimizing E Learning To Enhance Islamic Information Literacy in Combating Misinformation in the Post Truth Era
Abstract
This study aims to examine the role of e-learning in enhancing Islamic information literacy and explore effective strategies for countering digital religious misinformation among Muslim learners. The rise of hoaxes and religious misinformation on digital platforms demands serious attention, especially within the context of Islamic education. Using a qualitative approach through literature review and content analysis, this research investigates various e-learning platforms and Islamic digital learning materials in developing critical thinking, digital literacy, and religious understanding. The findings reveal that e-learning serves not only as a medium for knowledge transfer but also as a strategic tool to promote awareness about information verification and to instill moderate Islamic values. Effective strategies include strengthening digital Islamic literacy-based curricula, training educators to deliver verified content, and integrating Islamic ethical values into digital instruction. This study concludes that proper utilization of e-learning can serve as an effective solution to counter misinformation and promote a rational, contextual, and evidence-based understanding of Islam
