A Case Study of Assessing Drug Abuse: Recovery, Risk, and Growth of Detected Cases

Abstract
The drug abuse cases are gradually increasing across the year in Malaysia. It is threatening not only the user but the community surrounding them. In Malaysia, the National Anti-Drugs Agency has introduced high-risk areas and low-risk areas to differentiate the areas or distinct that has active drug distribution and smuggling activities. Hence, the aim of this study is to investigate the level of risk area for the Perlis state based on the recovery rate, risk rate and growth of detected cases. Findings show that Perlis state has successfully changed its status to low-risk area after Malaysia National Anti-Drugs Agency introduced several activities and program to increase the awareness and knowledge about drug. The implication of this study is to provide insight to the policy maker and community about the criteria that need to be concerned to provide a low-risk environment Keywords - Drug, Recovery Rate, Risk Rate, High-Risk Area.
