ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ETHICAL PRACTICES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN INDUSTRY
Abstract
It has become an imperative that Institutions and Policy frameworks incorporate ethical principles in both corporate and civil systems in their practices. The policies in education in Higher Institutions are far from what is required as Artificial Intelligence has advanced. Ethics and Bioethical inquiry play a very important role in Industrial practices for both Politics and Law. A few notable areas with the advent of AI are worker rights and their data, technological development in Industrial practices and their responsible use which can impact the way AI is used.
Four areas which must be specifically uncovered for scrutiny within the framework in daily functioning must include;
Respect for Autonomy, Non-Maleficence, Beneficence and Justice in all areas.
There needs to be a legal foundation as well as governance to support these different principles to lead in their various functions. When ethics is the foundation of working relationships there are Stakeholders who will trust and be committed. When stakeholders join together to make improved decision making, there will be reduced risks involved in daily functioning and one is able to navigate through complex issues.
The objective of the presentation is to review for both policy and Institutional support to make the necessary changes and make recommendations for practices related to AI in corporate functions.
