Paper Title
Sustainable Beef Supply Chains: The Financial Impact of Robotic Process Automation Adoption

Abstract
Sustainable beef production is a pressing global challenge. This research paper explores the financial risks and barriers associated with adopting Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which has emerged as a strategic enabler of sustainability in the beef sector. Beef manufacturers continually seek to enhance productivity while minimizing operational costs to achieve both sustainability and competitive advantage. However, a significant research gap exists, as little is known about the financial challenges, barriers, and risks influencing RPA adoption in the beef supply chain. To address this gap, this study conducts secondary research to gather statistical data and insights relevant to RPA implementation from a financial perspective.A simulation-based approach is used, leveraging a process model developed in previous research. Various financial scenarios are analyzed using Simul8 software, allowing for the identification of financial risks and barriers in RPA adoption. The simulation evaluates different financial parameters, generating key performance indicators (KPIs), income statements, and carbon emission reports. This enables a comprehensive cost analysis and helps identify bottlenecks at different stages of the beef supply chain. The findings demonstrate that successful RPA adoption can reduce supply chain complexity, enhance financial and operational efficiency, and ultimately improve beef productivity, quality, and shelf life. This study is particularly valuable as it assesses financial risks from a sustainability perspective and contributes to both academic knowledge and industry practice.Furthermore, it provides a process model to support financial and ethical decision-making for managers and stakeholders. The model can be adapted to suit the financial conditions and specific needs of different business users. By equipping decision-makers with insights to mitigate financial barriers, this research facilitates smoother and more effective RPA adoption. Ultimately, integrating RPA into beef supply chains can drive higher productivity at lower costs, creating long-term sustainable value.
