Paper Title
THE EVOLUTION AND PROSPECTS OF DEMOCRATIC POLITICS IN THE ERA OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Abstract
Artificial intelligence (AI) is redefining the contours of political landscapes. Leveraging advancements in data science and sophisticated algorithms, AI's influence on human political engagement, policy formulation, and decision-making processes is becoming increasingly pronounced. As a transformative force, AI introduces both opportunities and challenges to democratic governance in the era of intelligence. This paper critically examines the multifaceted impact of artificial intelligence on politics. On one hand, AI has positively expanded human freedom by enhancing civic participation and broadening digital liberties. On the other hand, it poses significant risks to civil liberties. Firstly, AI has reconfigured the power dynamics within modern states, with the ascendance of algorithmic authority challenging traditional monopolies of political discourse and giving rise to a formidable alliance between capital and technology, potentially leading to a "technological Leviathan" characterized by digital dictatorship. Secondly, inherent vulnerabilities in AI, such as algorithmic bias, threaten societal value consensus and pose profound challenges to human cognition, intuition, free will, and autonomy.Moving forward, it is imperative to approach the future development of AI with caution and strive for harmonious co-evolution between AI technologies and societal progress.
