Paper Title
Work Motivation and Work Competency Affecting Operational Efficiency of The Officials Under Office of Provincial Commercial Affairs in Thailand
Abstract
This study investigated how work motivation and work competency influenced operational efficiency among officials from Thailand's Office of Provincial Commercial Affairs. The research sample of 385 officials was calculated using Cochran's (1953) formula for unknown population samples. Data were obtained using 5-point Likert scale questionnaires, which had a reliability value of 0.810. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation, as well as inferential statistics like Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. The study discovered a 60.50% effect of work motivation on operational efficiency. The job characteristic dimension had the most impact, followed by respect, commander, and workcondition, with standardized coefficients (β) of 0.290, 0.233, 0.213, and 0.182, respectively, at a significance level of 0.05. Work competency has an effect on operational efficiency, with a prediction value of 57.20%. Achievement orientation is the most influential factor, followed by professional expertise, good service, and teamwork, with standardized coefficients (β) of 0.348, 0.252, 0.122, and 0.117, respectively, at a significance level of 0.05. As a result, the Office of Provincial Commercial Affairs should clearly define the roles and responsibilities of government officials, instill a sense of pride in being assigned a job that has been accepted and is part of a team, provide a positive work environment, and prioritize work to achieve goals by improving and developing work processes to exceed standards.
