Paper Title
THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY AND SAUDI ARABIAN CITIES: A CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK APPROACH
Abstract
This paper explores integrating circular economy (CE) principles into urban economic development within Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 objectives. It argues that the CE provides a transformative framework to enhance sustainability, resilience, and economic prosperity in urban areas. By reviewing the literature on CE theory and practice, this paper provides a framework of strategies to help implement a circular economy in Saudi cities. The study emphasizes the critical role of legislative, governmental, and semi-governmental bodies in facilitating this transition. The strategies shown provide Saudi cities with prospects to reduce environmental challenges and build more resilient and inclusive urban spaces by tackling present urban management complications and resource efficiency. Ultimately, this study positions the circular economy as a critical driver of urban development in the 21st century, emphasizing its dual role as both an environmental necessity and an economic opportunity for enhancing the quality of life for residents.
