DIGITAL WORKPLACE TECHNOLOGY AND AN IMPORTANCE-PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS OF SMART OFFICE
Abstract
Owing to the use of digital workplace, this study aims to investigate the perspectives of employees in the use of digital workplaces. Using a sample of 105 employees in Hong Kong spanning from different levels and industries using importance-performance analysis, this study found the needs of improving the space utilization, lighting control, and integrated room book system and lower the priority for HVAC control, environmental control, and audiovisual technology for ambiance. Companies shall also reduce their efforts on audiovisual technology for information display. Companies shall also keep up their work on audiovisual technology for collaboration, security and access control, networked printers and office equipment, and remote control. Companies are suggested to improve space utilization, lighting control, and integrated room book system in response to this study result.
