Paper Title
Photo Reforming of Ethanol Via Cubi2o4/Ag2co¬3 Direct Z-Scheme for Simultaneous H2 and Acetaldehyde Production

Abstract
In this research, the novel Direct Z-Scheme of CuBi2O4/Ag2CO3 was synthesized via a facile hydrothermal-precipitation route and its photocatalytic potential was assessed by conducting photoreforming of ethanol for H2 production. The physiochemical properties, including structural, morphological and photoelectrochemical properties were systematically characterized. Results from FTIR has provided clear evidence of a successful synthesis of the CuBi2O4/Ag2CO3. Whereas analysis on the physiochemical properties reveals an enhancement on the photocurrent generation. The photocatalytic performance of CuBi2O4/Ag2CO3 was assessed by the photoreforming of ethanol under 500 W Xe lamp for over 5 hours and results reveal an overall reaction rate of 57.6μmol g-1 h-1 for the production of H2 gas with acetaldehyde as major by-product with production rate of 721 μmol g-1 h-1. Further improvements to the existing CuBi2O4/Ag2CO3 could be introduced via doping or addition of mediator Keywords - Photoreforming, CuBi2O4, Ag2CO3, Hydrogen, Acetaldehyde, Direct Z-Scheme
