FROM REACTIVE TO PROACTIVE: LEVERAGING AI FOR COMPREHENSIVE PREVENTIVE STRATEGIES IN HEALTHCARE.

Abstract
Background: Preventive care is essential for improving health outcomes; however, it often faces barriers in clinical practice. At One Clinic, a leader in integrative medicine in France, we developed an AI-assisted preventive care model to enhance patient consultations. Methods: We implemented an online intelligent questionnaire that patients completed prior to their consultations. This tool assessed risk factors and generated tailored recommendations. 1,870 patients and 65 physicians across 9 different specialties participated in this study. Physician validation ensured the relevance of AI-generated recommendations. Results: The model identified preventive care opportunities in 78% of patients, with 56% of recommendations being outside the physicians' initial scope of consultation. Notably, the approach significantly improved patient satisfaction, with 82% preferring this holistic preventive care model. Specific case studies demonstrated the effectiveness of early intervention in critical health issues. Conclusion: The integration of AI in preventive care is not merely beneficial but essential. It enables a systematic approach to health prevention, ensuring comprehensive patient management while addressing barriers faced by healthcare professionals. Our findings advocate for the standardization of AI-assisted preventive strategies across healthcare settings.
