Concept of Green Federalism and Environmental Law in India
Abstract
Environment is the gift of nature. Men is dependent on nature for its basic necessities, particularly of food, clothing and shelter. However, the advent of industrial revolution in 1600s initiated the exploitation of natural resources under the term “development”.
In contemporary era, development activities by means of production of goods and services are posing a threat to the natural environment. There have been Central legislations in countries like India in the monarchical system.
This paper aims to demonstrate the regulation of environment and the statutes in force in the local levels in different countries all over the world. This paper further states the environment protection mechanism in force in India.
