Paper Title
THE AUSTRALIAN CONTEXT OF INCLUSIVITY IN EDUCATION: CHALLENGES AND IMPLICATIONS FOR NEURODIVERSE STUDENTS
Abstract
This paper delves into the challenges and implications of implementing inclusivity in the Australian education system for neurodiverse students. Despite Australia’s comprehensive legislative framework that mandates equal educational opportunities, there is a significant gap between these legal provisions and the actual experiences of neurodiverse students. The paper discusses the adverse outcomes, including mental health crises, increased bullying, and inadequate response from educators and law enforcement. By highlighting specific cases, the paper underscores the pressing need for a cultural shift within the educational sector to fully realize the rights of neurodiverse students.
