Paper Title
U-isotopes in sediments occurring in the vicinity of the Caldas Uranium Mine, Brazil

Abstract
Uranium oxide is a nuclear energy source extensively used in power plants. Uranium is a naturally occurring element with broad distribution in crustal rocks, possessing three isotopes:238U, the parent nuclide in the mass number (4n+2) decay series;235U, the parent nuclide in the mass number (4n+3) decay series;234U, radiogenic nuclide generated in the 238U decay series. In this study, these U-isotopes have been characterized in sediments providing from Caldas Uranium Mine, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, where started the nuclear program in the country. Keywords - Uranium Isotopes, Sediments, Alpha Spectrometry, Caldas Uranium Mine, Brazil.
