Paper Title
HOLISTIC STUNTING PREVENTION MODEL THROUGH NUTRITION LITERACY FAMILY
Abstract
Introduction: Stunting is a health problem in the world, especially in developing countries. World Health Organization (WHO) data for 2022 show that 22.3%, or 148.1 million children under the age of five, have stunts. The 2022 Indonesian Nutrition Status Survey (SSGI) in 34 provinces showed that the national stunting rate dropped from 24.4% in 2021 to 21.6% in 2022. Stunting prevalence in Lampung Province in 2022 has fallen to 15.2% from 18.5% in 2021, while the prevalence of stunting in Pesawaran District has increased from 17.6% to 25.1% in 2022, which is ranked first in the Province of Lampung. Methods: This library review aims to identify and describe evidence based on the latest knowledge related to stunting prevention holistically through a family of nutritional literature. Search articles using online databases PubMed and Google Scholar total 91598 articles searched in the last 10 years (2013–2023). Results: The stunting prevention program that has been implemented in Indonesia has not been able to provide an optimal impact on the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia. This is because most stunts are not considered a nutritional problem. There is also a negative stereotype bias towards families with stunting children, a false belief about normal height, and the assumption that stunting is a hereditary factor, so it is necessary to have family literacy. Conclusion: A holistic stunting prevention model through family nutritional literacy is an effective way to prevent and reduce stunting in children.
