FAMILY SUPPORT MODEL IN PREVENTION OF POSTPARTUM BLUES BASED ON MANDAILING CULTURE IN RANTAUPRAPAT CITY

Abstract
Introduction- Postpartum blues is the postpartum mother's failure to adapt psychologically during the postpartum period. The social stigma still attached to mental health problems also means many mothers feel reluctant to seek help and cultural approaches have been suggested as a promising strategy to address these issues. Method - This study used a literature review using the PRISMA method from published research articles on postpartum blues, causative factors, dual role maternal experiences, family mentoring, and prevention and treatment of postpartum blues published between 2013-2023 in the online article databases PubMed and Google Scholar. Data collection techniques by entering keywords in the database Results - This study shows that from the selected articles, postpartum blues are related to the experience of mothers who play a dual role in experiencing postpartum blues. In addition, a model of family assistance intervention by midwives was obtained as an effort to overcome postpartum blues. Conclusion - This study found that postpartum blues in mothers who play dual roles are variables of selfadjustment, then coping stress, and low social support.
