Paper Title
POSITIVE DEVIATION APPROACH STRATEGY EFFORTS TO PREVENT STUNTING IN CHILDREN
Abstract
Introduction: Stunting is still a global health problem with a high burden. Stunting has various impacts on children, both short-term and long-term impacts. Several previous research results show that there is a relationship between positive deviation parenting behavior and the incidence of stunting in children. Therefore, the author intends to identify positive deviation approach strategies in efforts to prevent stunting.
Method: This literature review uses articles sourced from several online databases, namely Pubmed, Science Direct and Google Scholar, which are international journals indexed by Scopus and national journals accredited by Sinta for 2014-2024. Apart from that, the author also uses other reference sources such as WHO data, national health reports and other references.
Results: Several previous research results show that mothers who have children who are not stunted tend to behave in positive deviations with good parenting patterns such as the habit of feeding children, parenting habits, hygiene habits and habits of obtaining health services.
Conclusion: Providing health education with a positive deviation approach to mothers is an alternative intervention that can be used to increase stunting prevention behavior. However, there is still little research that applies the positive deviation approach as an effort to prevent stunting in children.
