THE ROLE OF CADRE IN ADOLESCENT PREGNANCY: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

Abstract
Objectives: Adolescent pregnancy is a significant global problem, especially in poor and marginalized communities, impoverished and marginalized communities, with numerous adverse obstetric and perinatal complications. The aim of this review was to evaluate and synthesize evidence on the role of health cadres in improving pregnancy health outcomes in adolescent pregnant women. Methods: This systematic review was designed based on Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA). All papers were reviewed and a quality assessment was performed on them.Data sources: Articles published from 2013 to 2024 were searched from two electronic databases: Scopus and Web of Science. A total of 15 articles were selected that describe describing the role of cadres or CHWs on in pregnancy health outcomes of adolescent pregnant women for pregnant adolescents, data were analyzed using Atlas.ti. Results: Further review of these articles yielded five main themes:education and awareness, behavior change, training and empowerment, healthcare access, and community interventions. These five themes further resulted in a total of 14 sub-themes. Conclusion: This systematic review demonstrates that the role of cadres is important in improving pregnancy health outcomes, especially in adolescent pregnant women as an at-risk group. Continuous training and support for cadre are needed, as well as developing effective education programs and referral systems to ensure adolescent pregnant women receive the necessary care in a timely manner.
