TRENDS AND FUTURE RESEARCH ON HEALTH RISKS OF WASTE EXPOSURE AT LANDFILL: A BIBLIOMETRIC ANALYSIS

Abstract
Objectives: Waste at landfill have a significant impact on public health and environment, especially for waste picker. This study aimed to explore global trends regarding the topic "Health Risks of Waste Exposure at Landfill" and determine the future research. Methods: Publication data were downloaded from the Scopus and analyzed using VOSviewer software (version 1.6.20). A total of 1346 articles were identified since 1975 until July 14, 2024. Results: The number of publications has fluctuated since 1975-2012, and increased since 2013 until now. Xu, Ya is an author who has published more research (10 articles). The most productive country was United States (243 publications), which is also the country that collaborates the most with other countries. The most productive institution was Chinese Academy of Science (28 publications). Science Of The Total Environment with 94 publications was the most productive journal. There are 5 main research focuses on this topic, namely Municipal Solid Waste, Solid Waste Management, Environment, Health Risk and Health Risk Assessment. Waste Pickers is not yet connected to Health Risk, this could be a gap and next research opportunity. Conclusions: Global trends regarding health risks of waste exposure at landfill has been an increase in publications since 2013. The main focus of research includes Municipal Solid Waste, Solid Waste Management, Environment, Health Risk and Health Risk Assessment. These findings identify gaps in research associated with waste picker and as a direction for future. Keywords - Health Risk, Solid Waste, Landfill.
