ENHANCING PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND AGRICULTURAL PRACTICES THROUGH PARTICIPATORY ACTION RESEARCH: A STUDY ON OKRS IMPLEMENTATION AND METHOD DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
This research employed Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology. The objectives were twofold: to investigate project management using OKRs and to develop effective methods for promoting good agricultural practices. Key informants included local administrators, representatives from the Agricultural Technology Transfer and Service Center (ATSC), volunteer farmer-trainers, and representatives involved in promoting good agricultural practices in Phitsanulok province, Thailand. Data collection methods comprised focus group meetings, non-structured interviews, and non-participatory observations.Constructionism was employed to analyze and interpret behavioral patterns, phenomena, and data. The study identified four critical steps in project management with OKRs: reviewing project objectives, assessing and defining team objectives, developing key results for the project, and conducting project evaluation. Additionally, the results derived from OKRs included the development of an agriculture training curriculum handbook, engagement of at least two community researchers, and organizing an exhibition upon project conclusion. In cultivating effective methods for promoting good agricultural practices, the process involved selecting development techniques, detailed investigation of the training project draft, training and development activities, and seeking out at least two community researchers.
