Sustainable Water Management in the Textile Industry: A Case Study Analysis of Practices, Challenges, and Strategic Opportunities
Abstract
The paper shows strategies for sustainable water management in the textile industry. A qualitative thematic analysis was conducted on a recent sustainability report and the CDP water security questionnaire for a pioneer company on textile Levi Strauss & Co. The themes are sustainability goals, progress challenges, stakeholder engagement, and strategic opportunities. The goal is to reduce the consumption of freshwater by 50% in 2025, alongside innovative methods such as the use of recycled water and stakeholder engagement. The findings show the importance of these efforts and recommend insights into effective corporate water stewardship practices that provide value to practitioners, policymakers, academia, and customers.
