THE LEGAL STATUS OF CYBER ENTITIES IN INTERNATIONAL LAW (CASE STUDY: ANONYMOUS)
Abstract
Anonymous is a decentralized group of hackers and digital activists that emerged in the mid-2000s. The group is known for a variety of activities ranging from cyber-attacks on specific targets to digital protests for political and social causes.
Cyber entities play an increasingly important role in international law, presenting complex legal implications. These challenges necessitate the development of new legal frameworks that align with the unique nature of cyberspace. Although it is difficult to provide comprehensive answers to all issues related to cyber entities, this research aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the legal nature of cyber entities and the challenges they face in international law through a case study of Anonymous.
The research aims to define the cyber entity Anonymous and analyze its legal status. The research problem arises from the unclear legal status of the cyber entity Anonymous in international law. The study uses critical analysis of previous studies and legal texts related to the subject to answer the following question: Are cyber entities considered subjects of international law?
