UNDERSTANDING CHARACTER EDUCATION VALUES IN LOCAL TRADITIONS: ETHNO PEDAGOGICAL ANALYSIS OF THE TABOT FESTIVAL IN BENGKULU, INDONESIA
Abstract
The tabot tradition is a routine celebration held by the people of Bengkulu in the month of Muharram, in which there are rituals that contain values, including character education values. The purpose of this study is to uncover the character values in the tabot tradition series. This study uses a qualitative approach with a systematic literature review type, the subject of this research is documents that discuss the tabot tradition. Data was obtained through journal finders such as scholar, science direct, online libraries, websites. The analysis technique in this study uses content analysis techniques with source triangulation as a validity test. The results showed that in the nine processes in the tabot tradition there are character values namely Peace, brotherhood, struggle, perseverance and independence, The spirit of mutual cooperation, nationalism, cultural awareness, and religious values. With this research, it is hoped that researchers can contribute in terms of socialization of character education values, especially in the tabot tradition.
