Strategies of Improving the Usage of Library Services: A Case Study of Northern Border University (NBU), Saudi Arabia
Abstract
This study mimics various strategies for improving the use of the university library by students, based on a case study of our university. The goal is to increase the library's effectiveness as a valuable resource for research and student learning. The study finds initiatives to enhance the library's physical and virtual accessibility, such as extending operating hours, providing comfortable seating arrangements, developing a strong collection of materials that meets the needs of students, creating a welcoming and inviting environment status, offering a variety of programs and services and ensuring user-friendly online interfaces for accessing virtual resources. The research examines the implementation of information literacy programs intended at equipping students with the necessary skills to effectively navigate and utilize library resources. The research also examines strategies for expanding and diversifying the library's collection to meet the evolving needs and interests of students. This research also focuses on the implementation of mechanisms for gathering user feedback to continuously increase library services and resources.
The research discovers the importance of staff training and professional development to ensure the provision of quality services. It investigates training programs that enhance librarians' knowledge, skills, and ability to assist students effectively. By implementing these strategies, the university found an enhancement in the use of its library by students, fostering a culture of research, learning, and academic success.
