Paper Title
Medical Waste Management of Health Students the Relationship Between Knowledge Levels and Attitudes and Behaviours

Abstract
Medical waste is material consisting of infectious, hazardous and other wastes arising from healthcare organisations such as hospitals, clinics and laboratories. This study was carried out to determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and behaviours of health students who practice in many health institutions in medical waste management. The study was a descriptive cross-sectional and correlational study and was completed with a total of 311 health students. Data were collected online at a university in Turkey between February and April 2024. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics, independent sample t test and anova test with SPSS. As a result of the research, it was determined that all of the health students had good knowledge about medical waste management. The highest level of knowledge was in the home health department, while the lowest was in the physiotherapy department. Attitudes and behaviours of all students were determined as good. The best score was in nursing students and the worst score was in physiotherapy students. In the light of the results of the research, it is recommended that the differences between education levels and departments should be taken into consideration while providing training on medical waste management to health students who are practising in various fields.
